Pickup Pairing

Hey Guys,

I was curious as to what PRS bridge pickup people would pair with a 53/10 neck pickup. I have an interesting combo of 53/10 neck and \m/ bridge in my CU24 but I feel like I want to pull the 53/10 and swap it with a 59/09 neck or even a 57/08 neck. However, id be left with a random 53/10 neck with nothing to support it.

Since you can't get 53/10's from PRS and mine if from a PS build I'm going to be very hard pressed to find a 53/10 squabbin with hybrid hardware. So, would you pair it with a 59/09 bridge? A 57/08? Or perhaps even an 85/15?

I would choose 5909 two weeks ago but now????? Toss up between 5909 and 8515.

Sell me the 5310 neck and be done with it!

Hahha I love the 53/10 neck pickup too much to sell it. It's a fantastic uncovered pickup but I feel the \m/ is way too hot to pair with it. I think 59/09 would be a good compliment

I would try and work with the 53 / 10 to ensure that you really do need to change it. Pole pieces, height of the pickup I have done it all on some of my guitars, I even rotated the pickup 180% on one of my Les Paul's and it works.

It just feels like it's too much of a difference. I love the way the 53/10 sounds but I'm not sure it pairs super well with the \m/ bridge. I think a slightly hotter neck might do better as a pairing.
