I got a set of covered m pickups off of ebay to put in my McCarty for D tuning.. I was scanning ebay again tonight and found a set of uncovered m pickups which is what I really wanted but never thought I would find.

Im stoked as an uncovered pickup looks better to me and the square bobbin look even better to me.

I had started a thread a couple weeks ago about some pickups I got off of ebay. I sent them to PRS and they are confident they are very early dragon pickups even though they don't have dragon or PRS markings. That's cool. My wife doesn't understand why I have purchased so many pickups. I don't have the heart to tell her they are for future guitar acquisitions!

Awesome. I prefer uncovered pickups as well and like the squabbins too. I managed to pick up a \m/ bridge squabbin on vintage rocker and a matching 5909 neck to match it. Haven't installed yet though.

So you're the one buying pickups out from under me on VR! Nah I'm messin with ya. What are you putting the M/5909 in?

Let me know how that works for you. I was curious about matching those two.

Hahaha! I'm not even sure yet. I have that combo in my white McCarty standard, only covered right now. The intent is to put the squabbin versions in that McCarty and maybe put the covered versions in my blue custom 22 for awhile. My sweat tends to tarnish covered pickups pretty quick, the white guitar I play live and sweat all over, the custom 22 usually just play at home. Ole blue needs some fret work pretty bad.

They work great together. Keep in mind, I have them in a McCarty switching set up though(also, I have no tone knob but 2 volume knobs)...not sure how they work in the blade electronics scheme. I only tap my neck pickup. I like the tapped neck pickup with bridge humbucker sound. Maybe in my custom 22 I'll tap both pickups. I have the normal vol, 3 way toggle, tapped tone in that guitar.
