Hi,
I've recently traded a squire classic vibe 60's thinline telecaster & a bit more cash for a PRS & was wondering which pick ups are installed. It also has quite a few dings which l would like to seal up so they don't get worse, though not looking to eliminate them totally.
It's a 2008 Korean made PRS SE custom 22 semi hollow body. I've posted on FB & had lots of different answers & seem to have opened a cab of worms. Any info would be appreciated. Serial number is I07405 the first character being the letter I
Thanks

I was trying to help you but I'm finding conflicting info, none of which was directly from the the source / PRS.
Either you have 85/15 “S” pickups in that guitar or your 2008 Korean model predates those and has something else.
Stick around a while and someone here may know for sure.
A direct contact via email to PRS specifying the serial # may also get you the accurate information.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Thanks anyway, yes l was getting similar conflicting responses on FB.
I was going to put some pictures up but was not able to. It seems to want a URL to online pictures when in fact it's a simple upload from my phone photos. Wanted to show the dinks in question

Yea that's what seems to be the case. Some apparent evidence points towards the 85/15 “S” while in actuality your guitars may have came before those pickups. Someone here may come along and give you the correct details having gotten them from the source. Also in communications with PRS directly thus far they seem quite responsive when I need to know something. ;)

When I need to identify the stock specs for an older PRS Guitar
I use the Wayback Machine and pull up the PRS site from that year
The pickups for your guitar are listed as "PRS designed Treble and Bass Humbucking"
Some pictures of the back of the pickups would help identify them
and you should do this to verify they haven't been changed out in the last 16 years
measuring and posting the resistance would be a huge help as well

Welcome to the world of Korean SEs. Generally fantastic values.

Assuming they're stock, the ones in yours aren't 85/15s because the PRS naming system sets the last number as the year of introduction of the pickup, in this case 2015 for 85/15. The main question is whether you like the pickups. If so you're set. If not welcome to the club that thinks that most of the Korean SEs benefit HUGELY from swapping out the stock pickups which can turn them into fantastic guitars.

Regardless Of What The Pickups May Be...Do You Like Them? Do You Dislike Them? What Is It (Good Or Bad) Sonically That You Are After? What Does The Guitar Do Well As Is? What Is The Guitar Lacking As Is? What Are Your Guitars Natural Sonic Attributes? I Can Advise From Those Places.

If They Work For You, Who Cares What They Are. If They Don't Work For You, Who Cares What They Are. ;)

Having another SE from another other country, I at first wondered if I was gonna want to swap out and 'upgrade' my pup situation. Well I personally found out I don't need to. I really got my stock pups dialed in now for very responsive tone. Give them the thorough try as there may be no need to assume anything inferior about them. ;)

Great answers all thanks 👍. Regarding the dinks situation, should l start a new post & put pictures up? 🤔

PRS designed treble & bass pick ups is quite a mouthful & doesn't bring much up on you tube!
I will take the guitar in for a set up & string change in early September whilst l then go on holiday for two weeks. I could maybe ask him to have a peek at the pick ups in order to identify them & determine if they are original. And l won't change them just for the sake of changing them. I may ask him to put 10's guage strings on instead of the 9's l presume are on currently. Has anyone put 12's on or is this to be frowned upon? I was thinking l might get more acoustic projection with thicker strings for times l don't plug it in.

I played my squire classic vibe 60's thinline telecaster through my blackstar id core beam amplifier & it used to cut out & not sound on the two crunch settings. My newly acquired PRS SE custom 22 semi hollow "gorgeous coloured forever guitar" gives me back the two crunch settings 😍
