Fabulous!

A week or so ago I visited some college friends on Glen Lake in northern Michigan. One of our activities was kayaking the Crystal River, very appropriately named. An interesting thing happened, and something one does not see every day. This River is shallow, and a 2’ northern pike with a fish in its mouth swam under me. Unfortunately, I did not have my phone/camera at ready, but the picture is still imbedded in my mind.

I was fishing Christmas Day (maybe ‘85-‘87, can’t remember exactly) and I was fishing for small Roach and Bream. I struck into a bite and was fighting a much larger fish than my 1.5lb line and size 20 hook was designed for.

Eventually a rather angry looking Pike surfaced (probably 7-8lb) and came to the net, courtesy of a fellow angler. I had foul hooked the Pike through the pectoral fin!

Weird but great memory.

Started our vacation/road trip earlier this week. Drove down from Washington state to Vegas, spent a couple nights in Vegas and then got into Lake Havasu City to visit family yesterday. About 65 right now this morning, but supposed to be in the upper 80's to low 90's the next couple days. Spending a couple days here and then more destinations to come...

Great pic, thanks for sharing! And the London Bridge is NOT falling down!! What a relief, I think when it falls that is the beginning of Armageddon!!!
