Phase I tuners

Hi all, I am new to this forum, but not to PRS. I purchased my first PRS in 1989. My question is simple: I have a 1985 with Schaller tuners. The tuners are marked "Made in W Germany", but they have the Schaller "S", not "PRS". I have seen several 1985's with the same marking, but I have been told they are not OEM. Are they or are they not OEM?

They're the right ones. Earliest tuners didn't have the PRS stamp yet.

Thank! That is what I thought, but I needed confirmation. I also forgot to mention that they are non-locking, no cam-lock. I figured someone must have changed the post. Any thoughts on that?

Ehh.. They might not be OEM with that particular guitar then based on the model and year. It is possible to change the posts but more likely somebody swapped 'em out for M6's, which is basically what Phase I's are.

Thanks again. I do have a set of Phase I cam-lock posts, I may just replace the posts because it is becoming difficult to find W Germany Schallers.

The trem and wing-cam tuners are rock-sold! I have had gigs wherein I never go out of tune, and I use the trem frequently. However, it is the sound of my studio pickups on the neck setting that make the sweet-tone. I play through a 68 twin with a BK Buttler Real Tube. I currently have 8 PRS, and they ALL get played!
