Knows the Drill
My local mom n pop hosted Pete Thorn for a clinic last night, and it was awesome! Disclaimer, Pete is a Suhr artist and the event was co-hosted by Suhr, but they were not at all pushing their gear hard on the crowd, it wasn’t the focus of the night.
Pete said he hadn’t done any clinics since pre-COVID, so this was an all new presentation he put together and we were the first to see it. And I have to say, man, he was PREPARED!!! Some awesome tracks that he put together to play over, and he is just a monster player, which was on full display. I won’t ruin it for anyone in case he comes to your town, but suffice to say if you like big rock tones (and I mean BIG, he made them sound massive), nerding out over guitar gear, and watching a great player, this is a show for you. Definitely check it out if he comes around, and if you have a local Suhr dealer, push them to bring him in. Lots of deep talk about how to use effects - not just Suhr stuff by any means, they were cool about it. Pete was really cool and down to earth, as well - he hung out with everyone before start time and was really open with chatting with everyone. Good times!
