Perfect First Album?

went to the local pub tonite, had a band I hadn't seen before. they were quite good.
last songs of the third set ...

She Loves You
Some Kinda' Wonderful
You Shook Me
Encore ... Sweet Home Alabama ... know that a lot of guys here have endless criticism for it, but forty years later it still "Kicks ****in' A$$" ... kudos to Ronnie Van Zant and Ed King.

They played some other stuff which made me start to think about first albums ... for me the perfect first albums in the rock idiom are as follows, in no particular order.

Are You Experienced (UK version)
Van Halen
Texas Flood
Eagles
Please, Please Me (In the US), in Canada it was called something else that I can't remember and had 16 songs instead of 14. This album was released with different names and content in every country ... still the best ... it's the Beatles.

I'm not saying this album is at the same status as those listed above, but I've always thought the Killers' "Hot Fuss" was a really great piece of work. Has a bit of indie/pop mixed in, but I love that disc from start to finish. As I do most of their stuff, but I rarely skip a track on that one.

Led Zeppelin I was a pretty good first album. The Sex Pistols' "Never Mind the Bollocks". The first Montrose. Boston's already been mentioned, as has Stevie's "Texas Flood". And now that some time has passed, and we're not being beaten over the head with it everywhere we go, I've been listening to Adele's first album again. I think it stands up well.

Appetite For Destruction ... Slash puts the Guitar back into Rock!!
Music From Big Pink ... brings back a lot of very good memories for me.
Never Mind The Bollocks ... what a great album, love the cover art, punk rock begins (arguably).

Throw out one more ...

My Aim Is True ... Elvis Costello is one of my all time favourites and "Alison" still one of my favourite songs. Dig the cover art of him trying to look like Buddy Holly. It's weird how a guy as skinny as him ends up to be quite a bit "fluffier" in later years.

Bob Mould's (Husker Du) first solo album Workbook was same near perfect to me.

I also thought Smashing Pumpkins' Gish ranks up there, lost interest in them after that though.

Nothing's Shocking might count because I think the first Jane's release was an EP...

First album I ever bought was "Meet the Beatles." It was on 33rpm vinyl, and was monaural (not stereo). Not bad for a band's first, (and yes, there is dirt in my yard younger than me).
