Pauls guitar?

This demo of both the Core and SE Paul’s Guitars was posted in another thread. Listen on good speakers or headphones and you be the judge. Bollinger runs through the features and demos the guitar very thoroughly.

I have a PS from a couple of years ago with the Paul’s pickups, and it’s the most beautiful sounding guitar I own. The new pickups on the current model are likely to take it up a notch.

Here’s the prototype to the 2018 Experience Limited and the 2019 TCI Paul’s Guitar. One of my best sounding and one of my favorites. Both humbucker and singlecoil tones are so unique.

I have a regular, run-of-the-mill Core Paul's Guitar. I had one before. I sold it. I missed the feel, the tone....the EVERYTHING. I bought another. I buy and sell my PRS guitars regularly. The Paul's Guitar (and Vela, too, truthfully) is the only one I have rebought because it was that awesome. Mine has a trem, so the sound might be a little different than the stoptail version (you, with the brass inserts to change the lower mids and all that stuff), but it really is a great guitar.

I love using the guitar live because the volume level stays even between humbucking and single coil settings. The neck is VERY comfortable for playing live. The narrow 408s offer nice thick grind and can cut through exceptionally well. The singles are a nice blend between P90 fatness and Fender slice.

Here's a live example from my last band.

The "cut" of the lead is around the 2:38 mark. The video is just the mic from a go pro camera in the room. The guitar has serious cut and clarity.

Each to their own of course but why do you sell a guitar only to re-buy a new one? I can understand selling guitars you maybe don't like to fund a new guitar, understand that some people just like buying and selling, but I don't understand selling a guitar you like - at least not until you had a 2nd and then sell off the one you don't like as much.

I personally wouldn't sell any of mine- admittedly I don't have a 'large' collection - but, if for example, I saw a 594 with perhaps a Solid Rosewood neck - maybe a better top (although that's not a 'big reason for me, just a 'bonus'), I would either sell, trade my 594 to acquire the Rosewood neck 594 on the same day or buy the Rosewood neck first and decide which 594 to keep. I wouldn't get rid of my 509, Cu24 or HBii to acquire a 594 - only my 594 so that I always have that model in my collection. I also think of variations of the model (such as a Hollowbody 594, Custom 24-08) as 'different' models so I 'could' own both. In other words, I wouldn't sell my Custom 24 to fund or be replaced by a Custom 24-08. I know every one has their own 'rules' and maybe I will feel differently - ie sell a older guitar for a newer and better version.

I probably would trade an old Pails Guitar for a new one because the the fundamental change is just the new TCI pickups. That's different from hollowing out the body or adding mini toggles to split Humbuckers. Maybe its just me that has these odd rules LOL I will still never understand why people sell guitars they loved the feel and tone of - only to miss it and rebuy...

The point of this wasn't to call you out on this but hopefully to understand why, what your reasons were etc because I truly don't understand...

@Mozzi Sometimes stuff happens in life. My car died, I needed a down payment. I sold 7 Core guitars and made a nice chunk of cash. Bought a car. As time progressed realized I was fine with the others being gone, but I missed the Paul's. Why did I sell it to begin with? I got a KILLER offer - almost 15% above market value at that time. The store REALLY wanted one. I made quiet an overall killing on the deal.

Thank you.

I can understand that 'life' happens and selling a very expensive guitar or two can get you out of hole relatively quickly. I think my PRS guitars are my most expensive items and if I needed big money fast, I can see that selling these would be a lot easier than trying to sell a lot of 'little' things to acquire the same money. I don't know if I would sell any of my guitars though if I didn't have a reason. Of course everything has its price but I would like to think that I wouldn't be tempted for double the market value but, if I had my eye on a direct replacement - like having my eye on a Solid Rosewood neck 594, if someone where to offer me double (or even up to £500 less) for my 594 so I would have the funds to buy the other, I know I would sell. I guess whilst I am under no pressure or likely to be offered great money for my guitars, I can't see any leaving my collection and my collection is much more likely to grow rather than shrink or even stay the same.

What about selling one to get a BLUE one? :D

ha ha ha I think you already know the answer to that...

I wouldn't buy a 'blue' guitar - even if it was the 'best' guitar in the world. If someone gave me a blue guitar, it would be on Ebay and/or Reverb within minutes. The only way I will ever hold a 'blue' guitar is when I completely blind and I am lied to....

Sure thing. At the end of the day I think of guitars as paint brushes dipped in color. Sometimes I no longer need a color, and I get a different color for the palate. There is the rare occasion where a color is eliminated and later on you find the need for that color again. Such was the case with the Paul's Guitar.

But, to give you an idea of what I ended up with from selling the guitars and giving up some of my savings....

So, also being epileptic this was a good choice because of all the sensors - lane departure, collision alerts, cameras, traffic updates, weather reports, the full megillah. So, to add my Paul's to part of the deal, to make extra money on it, and buy this Cadillac outright. It was worth it to buy another Paul's a year later.

What’s wrong with blue?!

I have a Brushstroke 24 ( 24 fret Pauls guitar ) and there is none better when jamming with lots of folks, it has its own space in the mix.

I have sold and repurchased my ME2 a couple of time, best sounding guitar ever but for some reason its not the one I grab first

I’m very happy with my Paul’s Brushstroke 24, excellent sounding guitar with lovely split sounds.

I hope they decide to come out with a new Brushstroke 24 version with TCI pups with trem or stoptail option.

Thanks man!! I miss doing the live thing with those guys. It was a solid band....

Sounds like it. I used to like playing out, though It was mostly on keyboards, and from time to time, I do miss it!

Speaking of Cadillacs, here’s a concept car ad I did for Cadillac a couple of years back that you might dig if you’re into them. It’s still my favorite ad I’ve scored in years and years:
