Here we go, finally got the tuner replacement for my Paul's Guitar SE. I had ordered some Gotoh SG381's, but then I discovered that there was finish chips around the screw holes, so if I used those you'd see those holes all the time (eek). I instead ended up with a set of Gotoh SD90s. Basically a Kluson style but with the mag lock system. Really simple to use, way better than a post locking Kluson set I had bumming around so I'd reccoment using those for a replacement. FYI, its probably a given that no matter what tuners you use to replace the stock ones, you will likely have to rout the holes larger. I just used a dremel sanding drum (the 1/4" ones fit in the hole perfectly).

Eeek.

Tuner comparison. Gold one is an actual kluson. The real one seems to weigh more, a bit smoother turning.

Installed finally! Yay!

That looks fantastic. I’m so happy that you could hide the damage. No one will ever know ;)
