These Paul's Guitars simply don't stop. I swear every time I see one the top is marvelous. These two are as premium as they get. So nice.
 
Is Korina similar to Mahogany?
It looks similar
Korina is a trade name that Gibson came up with for white limba, which is an African relative of mahogany--it's what they used in the late-'50's on Flying V's and Explorers, and Skylark lap steels. It's related to mahogany, but they're not the same species. Korina tends to be generally a little brighter than mahogany, and can often be lighter in weight as well as in color. There's also black limba (korina), which has darker pores, can have dark streaks in it, and sometimes can show some figuring. What PRS is using is the white variety.
 
IMHO..Paul's guitar is stunning...but the birds need to be birds and not scribbles..just my view, the original birds are the dogs dangly bits..if you know what I mean.
