If you buy some, is it private stock?

I kid you not when I tell you putting “Private Stock” on a beer label will get you a cease and desist from Haffenreffer…or whoever it is who technically owns the rights at this point. I know several breweries who have received them, including one I managed at the time.

Because people will definitely confuse Haffenreffer and craft beer, the styles and price points being soooo similar.

I gather it was discontinued in 2013. Don't you have to be currently in the business of making and selling a physical product, one whose trade dress, likeness, associated trademarks etc you're protecting against purported infringement?

Additionally, a simple online search using the USPTO's database advises that the Trademark formerly held by Haffenreffer is dead (cancelled).

I don't drink, especially beer as I worked in a brewery when I was a kid. But that is still pretty cool. My wife loves craft beer so I am going to see if I can find it up here.
