This is more meant to be a casual FB style post rather than a thread. I lifted this photo off a dealer website. Have to say, the beauty of the paua/abalone is amazing these days.

Well I once saw photos of loose bird inlay pieces on a PRS webpage, and I was surprised how thick they were. For those guitars with etched gold birds, that must be not insignificant amounts of gold!
 
They would look great! I'm sure they could put together a block of Abalam for the milling machine! And as long as they never bit into anything harder than a grape, they'd last too!

I’m going to buy a yacht and name it “Abalam Tooth Fairy” with my first profit check from our partnership.
 
You need to quit being practical. This is America; it’s all about aesthetics.

Oh...I'd be happy to make them for people! It's after the multiple warnings of how to protect their investment that they still manage to break them and want me to fix it for them...
