Pattern neck McCarty vs HBII - do they feel the same?

I have 2 core McCarty's with Pattern necks and the neck shapes are consistent with each other. I recently and briefly had a Core Hollowbody II Piezo which according to the hang tag was a Pattern neck but it felt slightly fuller than my McCarty's which feel a bit trim compared to the HBII. The HBII felt more like a Pattern Vintage or even a DGT - it fit my had in a way a McCarty doesn't and felt like the perfect neck for a Hollowbody guitar.

Are the necks on the Core Hollowbody II supposed to be exactly like a McCarty? Do they consistently feel a bit fuller? For a hollowbody guitar I definitely prefer the neck on the HBII I briefly had.

Not saying you can't get a pattern neck on the 594 HBII but the handful I've played have pattern vintage. Also the ones I've looked at online are as well. I have seen one listed as pattern at GC or MF, but I never trust those guys for anything.

It could be an oversight on the hang tag to write pattern instead of pattern vintage.

Theoretically, the Hollowbody II with Piezo should have a Pattern neck where as the 594 Hollowbody II has a Pattern Vintage neck so I would double-check that it was a HBii with Piezo and not a 594 HBii

Every neck though is hand finished so there is bound to be some very small differences. However, that's not the 'only' thing that contributes to how 'thick' a neck feels, the strings and action also affect the feel. For example, if you have a 'low' action, the neck will feel a bit thinner than the same neck with a higher action. If the strings are 0.5mm higher, that's going to make the whole neck feel quite a bit thicker as that 0.5 mm extra height across the 'strings' adds quite a bit of 'volume' to the overall 'feel'.

The necks could both be '21mm' at the mid point of the first fret from, but with the height of the frets and the string height set above those, that increases the 'thickness'. When playing, you have to reach over the E/e strings for example to reach the middle stings so a slightly higher action can have quite an impact on how 'thick' that neck feels. It maybe that your McCarty's have a 'lower' action than the HBii you tried...
