Hi Everyone,

If you could choose between the P245 semi-hollow and the Hollowbody 2, which one would you choose and why?
So far I am leaning towards the HB 2 but that is only because I have never seen or tried the P245 SH in person before.
Anyone here have any experience with the P245 SH?

To me, 24.5" SCs are the best PRS guitar models. I dig SCs, and I dig the shorter scale length. But that doesn't mean squat. It's what you like that matters.

See now I on the other hand have never gotten along with singlecut guitars. Probably because I've never really owned one. I don't think much about scale length, though the few times I've tried a 24.5 PRS I liked it.

Are you planning on using the guitar live? With a high gain amp? In smaller rooms or smaller stages? Because the semi-hollow will have less tendancy to feedback than the Hollowbody. If you don't play high gain then it's less of an issue. I use my Hollowbody with a Dual Rectifer and it can feedback pretty easily at high volumes. I haven't had a chance to play it out live, but I've thought about the possibility that when I do it may force me to keep volume levels limited, enough so that the HB may not be usable.

As ChrisCst22 says, it depends on how you will use the guitar live. If you aren't using high gain amps or high volumes, then both will work, and it will really depend on which scale length you prefer. I'm sure either guitar will be an awesome axe!

I've used my HB2 with my recto set at a pretty high gain & volume and found it more than manageable, on top of that I was able to use feedback sustain easier than a solid body simply by turning my body at different angles. I'm sure the P245 is a great sounding axe but the HB2 is *BY FAR* the most comfortable, light & rich sounding instrument I've ever owned, crunch or clean.
