Hi All,

First time PRS owner, and a really happy owner of a P24. I did however notice something that I find really concerning. Asked my more guitar-savvy friend and he says it’s a “flow” (?) and that it isn’t normal, so I came here for advice.

It’s a discoloration at the back by the neck, and looks like something by the wood. I didn’t quite expect this from high quality guitars, so I was wondering what I can do about it.

Thanks in advance!

If you bought it new, you can have the dealer help you in sending it to PRS. It would be a flaw. If you bought it used, then it probably wouldn’t make financial sense to have the neck refinished. As long as it plays well, that wouldn’t bother me aesthetically. If it’s new, I would arrange to have it sent back. Understand that if you send it to PRS for a neck refin, it will be several months before you get it back. If used, there’s no telling what happened when the previous owner had it.

What a beautiful guitar! It looks like the finish lifted a little at the heel. I believe that PRS covers it under the warranty if you're the first owner.
