NDD - NEW DRUM DAY!

A friend and I are doing what we call "5 watts of thunder". Playing with 5 watt amps - or power switchable to something close. A "Champ" or something close is a nice grab and GO! I'm also building a "micro" pedal board with just a tuner, OD and a couple of others.

We could get the base volume down fine but the drums were still a bit much so I pulled the trigger on an E-Kit for my studio.

New TD-30K, so now I can practice drums any time I like and record drum beats for practice with the P22!

Yeah, Rango! A man (drummer) after my own heart. You know I got the TD-20 in my room right?

Nice! The only extended time I have ever spent with electronic drums was back when I had an old Simmons SDS-V, my wrists have almost healed by now!

Both have very cool rigs! Nice!

Hey Ruge, I know you didn't ask, but the speakers are too far apart for a coherent mix given your seating position, and are at too extreme of an angle for a good stereo field.

You might consider putting them at either side of your computer displays. You could always move the desk out from the wall to be able to use the stands behind it. It'd improve your audio immensely.

The desired angle for near-field monitors is truly about 30 degrees, facing the mix position.

Ruger, what are you using for an amp with the TD-20?

I just plugged the Kit into a GK Backline Bass wedge I had for the 5 minutes. I need to get something for the long haul... I've got a Yamaha 1000w powered Mixer - thought about running them into that for pratice. I've also got a Yamaha 2x18 sub and QSE 2500w amp to beef up the bottom if I take it to play "out". ;)

Sergio - the mesh heads play very soft, easy on the joints. ;)

That's a Roland TDA-700 Vdrums amp. It is plenty loud when you need it to be and it has line outs for PA or recording.
