Tried one at a shop and I think its string action was very high which is no surprise to me. All SE acoustics I tried, including my T60 come from factory with high action. Mine has fully 2.5 mm. measured at 12th fret, including a bit sharp fret ends.

I think the setup from Chinese Cort factory isn't so reliable. Yes it's still playable, but can be improved.

For better experience of playability, I recommend taking your P20 to a tech.

Way ahead of you my friend....

Just bought a P20E, and the action seems really high. Anyone else have this issue?
I just got mine today and the action is also very high. About 8/64th’s at the 12th fret (Low E) and 6-7/64th’s on the high E string. Also, the relief was way loose (concave). Tightened it but still have the high action issue. Time for a tech to look at it.

Mines in the shop now...

Just got my P20 back today with the action lowered and now it's so much easier (and fun) to play. Strung it with Martin Retro Light gauge strings which I've found seem to go well on Mahogany guitars. The action runs from about 4/64 on the 12th fret high E string to 5/64 on the 12th fret low E string.

While on a conf call, in listen only mode, I made a short iPhone video with some notes and a few chords so you can hear what it sounds like... Let's see if this works...

Thanks for sharing! I just picked mine up from the shop today. Action looks much better, but haven’t played it yet. I’ll let you know if the playability has improved too.

It's interesting that you mention Elixir's because they are often a top choice for me and they do add more volume and a bit of color vs. the Retro's. Retro's are a bit more woody. I have Elixir's lying around so I'll need to give them a try down the road. Or, maybe tonight. :)

I’ve tried Stringjoys too. Expensive, but sound amazing.

Tried Elixir PB’s (12’s) and they deliver more volume than the Martin Retro 12’s so if you are more of a strummer and want a bit more volume they deliver. The Retro’s have a bit clearer note articulation and are more woody in my opinion. For me, I prefer the Retro’s since I’m not using this guitar as a strummer. I’m going to try a set of 11’s next to see how that helps in terms of playability and what I lose in volume.
