I have a Blue Note overdrive pedal that I use when playing blues and classic rock and some level of OD is required. To me it seems to work very nicely with PRS guitars. I like this pedal for the following reasons;

1. You can dial in the level of OD and distortion that you want. I am into the "dumble type" sound - when you aggressively attack strings, I want some distortion, otherwise I want little to no distortion (think Larry Carlton)
2. The original tone of the guitar does not seem to change when the pedal is engaged.

What do you all think about this pedal and should I be considering getting a pedal that claims to reproduce the "dumble" OD sound?

I also have a Blue Note OD that I absolutely love. My main guitar is a modified Highway One Telecaster played through a Boogie Express Plus 5:50. My band played a local blues contest and after our short set one of the judges, a local guitarist who is killer, came up and asked if I was playing through a Dumble. I told him no it was a Boogie and took his question as a huge complement on my tone. My current back up guitar is a Soapbar II SE that sounds great. Seriously it is one of the sweetest sounding guitars I have. I also have a McCarty that I occasionally play (I hate taking it to bars its soooo pretty) and it sounds great through the Blue Note also. I recently added a Lemon Aid pedal, also by Rockett, which I think really bumped my tone up another notch.

I'm looking at getting a McCarty Korina with P-90s and I can't wait to hear it through my rig. It will actually be the first guitar I've ever bought without first playing. I'm pretty sure that being a PRS I can trust that it is a "player". I expect it will become a regular workhorse if and when the deal goes through.
