Out in New York on holiday at the moment. Obviously, had to visit Hard Rock Cafe. Look what I found. Torn between, wow rock and roll and what an idiot ;)

At least it's behind glass....

When HRC had Gilmour's Black Strat they left it unsecured. Needless to say it wasn't in a good state when Gilmour asked for it back.

I'd say idiot. Trashing guitars had become passé long before The Linkin Park chaps where born!

Send it to PTC!

Meh, I don't know why everyone gets bent outta shape about a smashed guitar. It's only rock n roll.
That being said, it can't be the staged, fake BS. Gotta be the real deal energy of the show moment. I've played shows that were awesome, ended with a bang and I certainly felt it in me to take it out on my guitar. It's a primal thing when it's genuine. You know... emotion...like music should have. That being said, I've never smashed a guitar. I can't afford it. A nice rule would be, if you smash a guitar, you must donate one to charity for kids who can't afford one. :)

Holy crap!! I agree. Difficult to look at a guitar where somebody has swiped the bridge.... Blasphemy!!!

I like this!!:top:

That is so sick! I saw LP in Sacramento first middle box seats and it changed my life. I love that band, very lucky to have that broken guitar.

Yup, broken axes don't do it for me anymore, but "Its only ROCK and ROLL, BUT I like it"...HRCs swap stuff every 5 years or so, so it will travel the world...I guess kind neat story about numerous repairs...

Yeah, I've never even gotten as far as the feeling. I don't see classically trained orchestral players smashing their instruments. I just don't "get it".

I smashed a few Strats (cheapo copies of course) onstage back in the day. While indeed it has to be **genuine**, IMO it also has to have musical content. A band is playing, and in a moment a guitar is in a heap? No good.

Best guitar smasher ever has to be Blackmore. Theatrical, musical.... AND genuine. And it fit the music perfectly, both with Purple nd early Rainbow.
