So I ordered the core volume and push/pull tone pot from PRS HQ. Got and installed them today. Matched everything exactly - moved the resistors to the new tone, etc.

The difference is startling. I haven't adjusted the pickups at all - I wanted to sort of A/B with the original, overseas pickups.

The treble portion of the spectrum is enormously more pronounced. You really have to use the tone control to get a more bass/muted sound. It's not bad exactly - everything is MUCH clearer. And as advertised the Volume taper is great all the way down. However, I'm not sure what's going on. My first thought is that the overseas ones are different resistance - like 250K instead of 500K. Or that the treble bleed cap on the Volume is somehow enhanced. Anyway, not sure.

I'm guessing lowering and adjusting the pups will make some difference, but wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced this, and if so, what they did about it.
