Hi guys,

Few years ago, I discover the Thomastik 10-50 (RP-110) strings and I kind of like the 10-50 gauge and never really search for anything else, nor even tried.
It worked just as fine on a 24.5" scale guitar. But lately I received my Brent Mason, and the sticker says it's mounted with 10's but with no other precision, and I kind of like them. Quite lighter and smoother than the Thomastik and I'd love to give them a try on the 245.

Does anyone know which brand and gauge the factory strings are?

From what I found on the Internet, it seems like Brent Mason himself is using d'Addario EXL110 Nickel Wound, 10-46 (Regular Light) but I don't know if it's what PRS Factory is mounting by default.

Does anyone have a clue?

Thank you!

Most core PRS guitars come with PRS 10-46 strings that are not listed in the PRS store right now. I guess they're out of stock. The PRS strings are made by d'Addario to PRS specs and I think they're very similar to the EXL110's.

I've got Elixir .010"-.046"s on mine, but I use those on all my electrics. The factory strings were probably PRS, but those are made by D'Addario anyway. I didn't keep the factory strings on long enough to see how much life I might get out of them--the Elixirs hold their tone practically forever.
