I've found something I want, but it's in the Netherlands. Can anyone give me a clue as to what I can expect for import duties? It's a US-made PRS, used. From what I can tell I can expect something between nothing and around 10%. What gives me a bit of pause is the uncertainty of it.

Is there anything I should be asking the seller about? They're a guitar shop that's been around for a while.

Thanks!

I bought a guitar from Peach Guitars in the UK. I’m in the Chicago area. I thought it could get held up in Customs and it would be a couple of weeks before I got it. They shipped FedEx and I had it in 4 days. I didn’t hear anything about import fees until I got me monthly FedEx statement and saw there was a fee for $189 for either taxes or import. The price on the guitar was $2,900 US

The import fees are generally according the national VAT plus extra charges (administrative costs).
Base is the gross price (guitar price (without VAT, when traded outside the national borders of the dealer) + shipping costs + transport insurance).
In 2011 I imported a guitar from the US to Europe via UPS 24hrs-shipping, shipping cost 175 USD.
2020 I did the same and the costs (now FedEx 24hrs-shipping) has beed raised to 300 USD.

All the customs issues could be handled by the respective transport company in return for extra charge.
