One Piece Tops!!!

Have wondered over time if there is any tonal impact of a single non cut cap vs glued on after bookmatch. I have several of each and don't know if I can tell a difference. I do prefer the visual on one piece in most cases. Curious how others viewed the whole thing of one piece tops vs cut tops.

I like the symmetry of bookmatched tops, but some one-piece tops get awful close, and those ones are amazing

I agree with both of your sentiments!

For me, 1-piece is great on quilt tops cos it resembles nature like clouds or water. On flame tops I prefer 2-piece symmetry.

I in fact asked for a one piece quilt top on an ongoing build, but where the grain is vertical (ie parallel to the neck). I hope they can deliver on that. It would be radical!

The wonderful about that top, is that although it’s not perfectly symmetrical, the eye wants it to be and confuses us into seeing it that way.
