I'm proof that Alnus was correct about getting bid happy at night. I had put this one on my watch list and completely forgotten about it. The seller had chosen a strange end time that was after 2AM eastern time. I saw the eBay watched item reminder when I was going to bed around 11-ish. I thought, hmm, only the opening bid has been placed, what the heck I'll one-up them by $2.50 and see what happens.

Woke up for work the next day, and you know the rest...

Luckily for all of us, USPS and UPS are always late getting here, but FedEx comes fairly early.


I don't know about you, but I get nervous when I see a guitar packed like this. I carefully cut the tape and peeled the box away, fully expecting something to be broken.

Speaking of ivory rings. Bought some from PLT and they're a tad more on the narrow side and the screw holes dont line up correctly for my SE ZM. Any ideas where to get some?

I haven't put Core rings on an SE before. Since the SE screws are larger than Core, I'm assuming I'd be able to finagle the smaller Core screws in there with some toothpicks as fillers.
