seriously? with all the staff that NBC has working on the Olympics, none of them has a dictionary? why do i keep hearing the word "synchronicity" in the context of ice skating? there is nothing random about a pair of skaters twizzling in unison. sure, the word is cool to say, but sheesh.

curse you, Gordon Sumner, for popularizing this word!

Speaking of skaters twizzling, Olympic champion Meryl Davis' family are lifelong friends (my wife fixed Cheryl and her husband up long ago), and my daughters baby-sat Meryl when she was a little kid.

Meryl is the most down-to-earth, nicest young woman you'd ever want to spend time with. In addition to her very demanding training schedule for all those years, she handled a challenging academic program at the University of Michigan (along with Charlie) and graduated with honors.

She is a winner in every possible way. And her parents Paul and Cheryl are super people.

My wife and I are unbelievably excited for her and her family!
