Does anyone around here do anything interesting with old worn out strings? The farm boy in me always hates to throw away a potential gold mine of material. They can make good critter snares, but it turns out fur trapping is frowned on in the big city!

You can use them to file a nut slot, mend a fence, tie on a bumper, give a bad tattoo, or even kill a man. But be careful, they're also good for maybe putting an eye out.

I throw 'em away--but a couple of years ago, when my wife was still with Kaiser Permanente (she's since retired), she asked me if I had any old strings she could give to Maintenance--apparently they can use the plain ones to remove plaster residue from a wall when they move a picture. I didn't have any--since I've been using Elixirs I hardly change them anymore!

They have been used to remove windshields, too...and wound strings are always part of a survival kit...who knows when you'll need to take a big tree down!?!?
