It's just a thin layer over the whole face of the guitar. The SE Akesson is basically a significantly chunkier SE 245, with chunkier fretwire and frets, TonePros bridge and ebony fretboard.
Akesson was something like "omfg, how do you play your guitars lololol XD" while Akerfeldt was helpful and added in "no no, it's prepared so that he covers it after the signing". Svalberg, who was sitting next to Akerfeldt and heard my initial instructions quickly took a piece of paper and signed it a couple of times before the guitar, while commenting "yeah, no pressure whatsoever".
