After a long hiatus, I played this old pal this morning. I picked this up year’s ago after seeing the introduction at Anaheim NAMM. You know I’m a sucker for natural and BRW necks. It’s also a Swiss Army knife of tones.
513s and rosewood necks go together so well. That’s a beauty. I always found the 513 to be a “I sound like how you play me” guitar. Many guitars lock you into a tone or zone (tone-zone?) by how they sound, play, even look. The 513 is just you. I like that a lot. While it doesn’t lead you to a sound, I also found that I never had to fight it… not in sound, and not to fit with the band. That’s real versatility.
