Fell down the proverbial Ted-Ed rabbit hole this morning. I thought this was a great, quick and fascinating video, about how our brains are superior to non musicians (kinda). That's the take away I got anyway, YRMV. Pretty cool none the less.

I realize you’re kidding, but I think it’s more a question of reaching whatever potential we have.

Looking around this very forum, there are an awful lot of bright, successful people.

This is a great thing! Keeping the brain active and learning pays huge dividends down the line. Good news to see that sort of activity specifically from playing your instrument. It’s likely even more so in a band environment, as you track the groove while improvising to it. I like it!
