For the HB, I was thinking along the lines of avoiding the piezo, again in the interest of bargain hunting.
While piezo-less HBs are usually a bit cheaper, I think the one feature that absolutely takes the HBs to another level is the piezo. For me, and obviously this is IMHO to the extreme, I would always wonder how much more varied a piezo-less HB could sound. It's like two guitars for the price of one plus that little bit more for the piezo bridge, maybe 2 for the price of 1.1.

Or, for true completeness, get a HB I without a piezo, a HB II with a piezo, and dealers choice on a Spruce HB.
