As some of you may have read, I dropped off my ZM today to swap out the Gotoh tuners for my favorite ones, the Planet Waves/D'Addario Autotrim tuners, and a full setup.
Also breaking protocol and going to try those NX NL or whatever they call them 9-42 strings instead of my EB Cobalt 9-42 strings.
But while there I played this black S2 Custom 22 Semi-Hollow with a pattern neck.
The guitar is as light as a feather, and not a flaw in the finish even though it it a 2015 model and has been out since October or so.
It played very nice, and I can get use to the neck, similar in feel to my 2012 SE Santana with the Wide/Fat neck.
Push pull tone pot, did I mention not a flaw on the guitar?
Not sure what gauge they come with, no info on the PRS site.

Not really a fan of chrome covered pups, I would prefer all black bobbins, but maybe down the road I would have them throw in different ones.
Did I mention the guitar was flawless?
Seriously thinking of bringing it home when I pick up the ZM.
They would do a full setup of course and 9-42 strings.
The other guitar I played was the new CE 24, and it has the pattern thin neck and in Trampus Green.
He got that in a few days before PRS announced them, but he was told by the factory to not put it out until they announced it first.

It played nice, and I like the maple neck, but I am not really keen on 24 frets.
Might be why my 2012 SE Custom 24 sees less action than my others.
Decisions decisions
I like them both.
If I got the CE 24 I would want the white pup rings gone, and swapped for black ones, but that would have to wait until later when they can order them, unless they have some in.
The CE 24 is about $500 more, but I really dig the S2.
Wish it had a pattern thin neck, but like I said, I can handle the Pattern Regular neck.
If I got it, down the road I would go with black bobbins and the stock black pup rings that are on it.
