I'm really going to try and improve myself this year. It's kinda time.
The usual resolutions, IDK, don't have to really do any of them.
However, there are two that are important to me ...

1. Try to be less "salty" on the forum and in my life.
2. I'm fortunate to be in a band that gigs a lot, however that can lead to complacency, which it has. Want to take my playing to a new level, incorporate some of the techniques that I admire and respect.
Reading the wood and tone thread. I really believe that as guitarists we overthink and overanalyze these things. I have a bone stock 2011 Studio with two Narrowfields and a 57/08. I have a real simple rig and I can get any sound/tone that I need or want. I gig with it exclusively and it's seen well over 300 gigs since I bought it.
Anywho, just my experience.

Cheers!

Very true, the only way is up my friend.

We do overthink this stuff! You're so right. And I'm the worst of the culprits! Then again, it is kinda fun to talk about. Happy New Year and have a great one, man!

Practice every day.

Read posts through before "reacting", "saltily".

Try to contribute to the general knowledge rather than perpetuate hearsay and chaos.

I have too many guitars. Sell some, buy fewer.

I am going to stick with one guitar, instead of blowing through them like Charlie Sheen on a weekend bender, trying to find the perfect one. (OK, I may get one more at some point, but no more flipping!). With all this extra time saved browsing and researching, I am actually going to practice and play more. I know, crazy notion! And try to save my forum time mostly while at work, where it should be done! (Just kidding boss!)

My new year resolution it record my album in time for the summer. Star my new job and with all the free time I'm getting, start my band.
Maybe just a goal but a good one.

My New Years music related resolutions are as follows;
1. Attend NAMM for the 1st time
2. Learn some country blues licks
3. Continue to improve finger-picking skills
4. Add 5 news songs to my band's set list
