NVD....not an STD

I prefer plain tops...mines a '22 and it's my only S2 that I haven't swapped the pups out thryre clear and killer on the older models too...enjoy!

congrats. these Velas are something special plugged in. And crazy good acoustically. Better than most core's I've ever tried unplugged!
Here's a B+W photo of mine. So simple yet so elegant

New Vela Day. Satin Semi Hollow. Velas have been on my radar for a long time. Always hesitated due to the electronics. The announcement about the US pickups, etc pushed me into buying mode. My guy at Sweetwater told me there were 2 on the truck expected "any day" back in late April. I told him to put one in the queue for me. That was a lot of "any days" ago. I started searching Reverb daily. One would show up, and be gone quick. I hemmed and hawed about spending MSRP and doubts started to creep in. Last week a few showed up and I put them on my "Watch" list. Of course, I got an offer on one, and it was at pre-2024 pricing. There was also one at a small shop that appeared to still be using 2023 MSRP. The Mrs liked the Vintage Cherry better, so the order was placed. Fun guitar. Highly recommended to anyone on the fence. Nothing fancy to look at, but here are the obligatory pictures........

Of course a narrowfield in the neck, but what is the USA bridge pickup they chose for the 2024+ Vela?

Awesome guitar!!! I have an antique white one that is the original S2 pickups.

Good question, and I'm going to look now on PRS site, because I wasn't even aware they put a new NF in the neck on these.

Edit: DS-01, whatever the heck that is... ???

The core Starla bridge pickup
Not sure about that pickups as I've never tried one. I'd like to try one though, as I'd love to hear this version of the NF neck pickup.

And, I'll go on record now for saying, if they are going to flip some pickups on the models from year to year, the next one should be 57/08 bridge-P90 Neck. THAT would be a cool Vela! I bet this version is pretty cool too!
