Evening all,

Just showing off my latest addition. I got this from Richtone music today and still shows on their site if you want to know the price, which was very good IMO.
I have ideally been wanting one of the newer non-piezo HBII with phase III tuners and 58/15s but those seem to be very rare, probably find some now I have this.
I spotted this on my daily browse of Richtone and finally decided to buy it. I figured why not have a first year (98) which according to a quick Google search is nearly classed as "vintage" when it hits 30 years old in 2028.

The condition is fantastic for a 27 year old guitar, a tiny amount of fretwear and only minor scratches that should polish out with some T-cut, no dents or breaks at all to the finish. Just a really nice guitar.

I will be giving it a bit of a facelift on the weekend with some amber lampshades and pickup rings because I have some spare and prefer them. I will also give it some new strings 9-46, polish the frets, check the setup etc.

I did briefly have a 594 HBII last year but just prefer a one piece wraparound that my McCarty and Mira have so returned it. Aesthetically the wraparound on a PRS double cut shape just looks correct to me, just my preference.

The photo's are from Richtone and are far superior than I could take with my phone.

Something I did notice is that the G & B tuners are set slightly further in from the edge compared to the bass side. The string angle looks fine.

Congrats and weird tuner placement for sure! On the upside: it makes the strings go more straight tru the nut slots, so more stable ;-)

Gave it a clean and setup today along with the facelift.

I thought this colour was McCarty Burst, turns out to be Vintage Sunburst looking in the neck cavity. Was Vintage Sunburst renamed McCarty Burst?

PRS guitars looks so much better with all of their own parts rather than the off the shelf parts used on the older ones.

Pickup rings are from my 2015 McCarty since that got the new taller bridge ring. May get a tall ring for this when they are back in stock.

The 12th fret inlay even looks flamed, I assume this is rippled abalone?

Just need a Custom 24 to finish my little collection off.
