I have been jonesing for a Floyd Custom 24 so instead of diving into the deep end of the pool I am testing the water by dipping my toe in. I grabbed a really clean 2020 SE Floyd Custom 24 and gig bag locally last night for 6 bills and a pedal. Figured what can I lose on that?!?

I have to swap the 9’s for 10’s and set it up but kind of dig it so far. Feels similar to my WL CU24 so that’s a plus. The stock 85/15s pickups have to go, they are not bad at all but too loose with gain for me. Trem is a 1000 series and seems solid and holds tune.

I dig it and with enough time on it I may finally get the urge to grab a core version. Not a problem I fear.

I know he does but I cannot as easily do regular maple anymore after tasting the roasted variety. He sold the only one I saw he had with a roasted maple neck and board. He sure does know how to spec a purty guitar tho, doesn’t he?!?

Congrats! I'm a big fan of Floyd's myself. When changing strings do one at a time. It'll make your life a ton easier.
