So, I took the plunge! I had one briefly last year, and loved it, but UPS didn't, and damaged it in transit! I had been on the fence to get another, because I thought the pickups were lackluster at best, but I had a pair of Duncans, (SH-5 Custom bridge and Pearly Gates neck), that I bought awhile back for my SG Standard, but I love it as-is, and chose to keep it stock..
Enter the new S2 594 Singlecut. Found it on Reverb as NOS, and the dealer was blowing it out. I jumped on it.
Needed a setup to my preference, (action was high, and way too much relief). Put my D'addarios on it, got the Bass side action to just a hair over 1.25mm at the 12th, and the Treble side a hair over 1mm. Relief as at about .006 at the 8th. Yes folks, that's low. But, it plays itself. Dialed in the intonation amazingly spot-on. Tuning stability is fantastic. Super impressed with this guitar. Just need a case, and the Duncans go it in Saturday! Should be that much more amazing! Actual photo..
