New Pedal Day!!! Complete with a Not the Actual Pedal Picture! Well, same model, but not the actual pedal that's plugged into my signal chain right now.

This has been on my radar for a number of years, but I didn't pull the trigger until Friday. There was a deal at my local pusher, and for whatever reason, the time felt right. So, off we went, and I grabbed one. Got to play w/it for about an hour yesterday, and I can already tell this is going to be an always on thing for me. I have to open it up and play w/the internal switches a bit to decide which setting I want, but other than that, I can see why so many people like these.

It's a nice pedal. If you turn off the stock "+3 dB boost" switch, then it's pretty much like the echoplex buffer circuit and you can get the tonal coloration at unity gain (no added volume), which is nice. I compared it vs. my ClinchFX EP-PRE and found it to be pretty equivalent.

In the stock "+3 dB" mode you can't exactly get it down to unity, but it's a helluva nice sounding punch. I'd probably have kept it close by, if again I didn't already have the EP-PRE where I like it on the board.

I had one, and used it a lot as a 'not quite clean' boost. Nice pedal!

Yes, I have one and it rotates on and off the board regularly. I dig it for a lot of things.

Great for hitting the front of the amp a little harder so you can leave the amp on that nice edge. Very clean in the circuit.

While I haven't owned the actual pedal, I quite like the model of it in the Helix. Thanks for reminding me, need to play with it in my HX Effects .
