New Prototype 305 Day!
I've been sniffing around this one since my buddy Vito 1st posted it up on BaM five years ago. I really wanted one with a maple fretboard and I've only ever seen a few from the 1st twenty. I believe that George (Dancing Frog) told me there were only 4 with maple fretboards from that initial run. He promised his to Rosenberger and one sold on eBay not so long ago so there weren't many left to choose from. I'm stoked that Vito and I could make the deal work.
The inlay appears to be wood - which is very cool and unexpected. The inlay color matches the reddish-tobacco of the 1-piece, figured, alder body quite well. The vintage stain on the neck is really tasteful and the gold hardware really pulls it all together.
I've been playing this guitar for the last few hours and I am just so pleased with the tone. It sounds great though my '64 Twin but the Bad Cat wins this round. It's just so lush and shimmery.
The color is hard to photograph so I am posting photos with the flash on and with it off so you get a better sense of it. I'll be playing this one regularly. Anyway… here it is.

<EDIT> Here are some outside shots.
