Just arrived today. My 86 blue lined formed fitted case. It was too good to let go. I wish it was an 86 VY custom in it but maybe one day. My ce24 was especially happy today

Very happy with it, it's in good nick for its age and it's older than my girlfriend!

Just need to put the guitar down long enough to put it in the case

Very cool case, slowro! I'm pretty sure that's not from 1986 though. The cases in 1985, 1986, and most of 1987 were not form-fitted to the body of the guitar and had a trapezoidal compartment (rather than rectangular). It appears as though the case you have is a late '80s PRS case. I've owned both (see pictures below) and the lining on the earlier cases was a brighter blue. Here is a picture of my old '89 VY Custom with a case almost identical to yours (which makes me wonder if they're the same case) and a picture of my old '85 with an early PRS blue-lined case.

For what it's worth, the case you got is much more scarce. I've only owed one and maybe seen 2 others. Congrats!

Bryan is correct The early 80's cases were lighter blue and weren't form-fitting like the later cases.

Thanks for clearing that up guy. I had done some searching about them and turned up little info.
The guy selling claimed it was from Serial Number 6-117x and the original owner had a flight case made and sold it to him at grinning elk music but every cloud has a silver lining if it is more scarce!

I'd love to see the original guitar that came with it!
