One of my childhood heroes, Mr. Kirk Hammett, doesn't have many nice things to say about our beloved PRSi: they are Les Paul copies and they are not aggressive enough.

Not that it matters, but he is bringing to the forefront one of the cliches about PRS guitars that I face quite often: "Oh, that guitar looks gorgeous for sure, but it is a PRS....you should not be playing aggressive music with it. They are for playing nice".
When in the mood, I would explain how some heavy dudes like Holcomb, Tremonti or Åkerfeldt use PRSi to produce some not nice music. And when not in the mood I will just plug my guitar and melt some faces: I will always swear by my 85/15s....when properly dialed they are some of my favorite, if not my absolute favorite, pups for playing metal.
Anyway, funny how this will never happen with my Ibanez or ESP or any other brand I have owned...but I always have to play this defensive role when picking up my birds.
PS1: Hey Kirk, I love my PRSi but dislike all the Les Pauls I have tried...sorry pal, but I think there is something different in the PRS recipe for sure.
PS2: I left behind childhood more that 30 years ago
