Northern Lights video...

I love the 3D effect you get with PRS finishes and the depth you get with a solid Maple (not veneer) cap. I am well aware that photo's do not show a PRS in the best way - you cannot see the 3D effect that you can with a video as the movement is necessary to show that - that principal doesn't show the depth either as that too requires movement.

I know I have pictures of my guitars that from certain angles, they can look as if there are 'gaps' - areas with little/no striping but from a different angle, there are stripes. I remember having a discussion about 10-tops and why my Cu24 isn't and someone said that maybe due to a area that looked like it had very few stripes from the front view pic but from a different angle, there are just as many stripes as anywhere else. This is because of the 3D and Depth that you can't capture without a moving image. It doesn't affect Veneers of course..

This video is great and really does show off the stunning beauty of the woods and the PRS finishing...

Some serious tiger stripes / curls in them ar hills, er maple on that fiddle! Top and neck (edit and back!) A beauty for sure!

I can hear the notes ringing out longer too (funny, iPad autocorrect changed notes to Norse?!? - THEY KNOW!!!!):D

Intentionally slow pace.....gratuitous shots that linger too long.....multiple angles and retakes just for the sake of it.

Porn video reported.

Friggin amazing guitar, by the way.

I've always found it difficult to appreciate how deep/chatoyant a guitar looks with pictures alone.
For anyone wondering how Northern Lights looks in real life, here's a video of my CU24 Northern Lights under a spotlight at varying angles:
Enjoy!

That is a RARE beauty, no, wait, it's EPIC!

Wow, what an awesome build.

How do you plan to keep the top from fading? I hang mine on the wall and I’m terrified it’s going to fade.

I keep it in the case when unplayed.
I’m sorry but I don’t understand why you’d hang it on the wall knowing full well it is a particularly fade-prone finish, especially considering the price of these.
If you do, at least put some UV protective film on your windows...

I like to have it out for ease of access when I want to play. I had thought about converting a hutch or gun cabinet into a guitar cabinet and hanging the guitar inside, but it seems like the juice wouldn’t be worth the squeeze. The case is probably the safe option.

Mine is an aqua burst Modern Eagle 5. I think anything with blue has issues with fading.

Indeed blues seem especially terrible with fading.
I’ve seen plenty of blue colored PRS that faded and it’s usually not pretty. On the plus side, you can always get it refinished for a modest $1.5-2k ;-) once it fades.
