non PRS competition

the other sites are free too...and i am not mad about...i just won't post pics

Well it's a very quick easy thing to do if you were to want to. The option is there for free. Whether it's about storing space and bandwidth on a website's server or about avoiding copyright complaints PRS decided to just not offer the hosting of everyone's images. Fair enough, and the ability to still share images for free is there and it's not too painful of a process.
🤷‍♂️

as i said...i ain't mad but i am a as few processes as possible guy so i'm out on the 3rd party involvement

There's free options but most that use the sites become supporting members. Someone has to pay the bills. We're a bunch of freeloaders around here.
no biggie...pretty sure everyone here has seen a prs singlecut already anyway...lol...i am off it again anyway...i kinda like the squier classic vibe with the bucker in the neck a little better and a new one is about the same as the 2008 prs...age not confirmed but a guess based on the serial number

of course i could be back on it by the morning...daves has a bunch of the se ce satins used for about the same price too and i like that one

I'm permanently disabled, so I haven't had the privilege of owning any really nice anythings. The best guitar I ever had (and my favorite guitar model ever made) is the original Gibson LP Studio Gothic with the moon & star inlay at the 12th. It was my 2nd guitar and my only guitar from 2003-2012, when I became homeless and had to quickly sell everything. I still kick myself every day for losing that guitar. Didn't have an instrument again until 2021.
Now I have a PRS SE Mira and Gibson LP Special Tribute Raven (almost a Gothic, but no archtop and no moon & star inlay, but it's lighter, which is a plus). I've had them both in drop-D for 3 years, both have the same set of pickups, and I just always played the LP because it sounds better to me. The Mira had kind of a tubby/boxy low-midrange. But I just put heavier strings on the Mira and tuned to drop-C, and now I can't put it down. The low-mids now sound great, thick and rich like they are in drop tunings. It's like the way that piece of wood resonates was meant for the lower notes and heavier strings.
The Mira has the most responsive and adjustable truss rod I've ever had. It's super light, I can stand with it on a strap over my shoulder comfortably all day. It's easy to play. The LP is no more than 1.5 lbs heavier, but that one gets painful on my shoulder after a few hours.
Also, the 3rd (G) string on the Mira almost always had fret buzz that made it bwaaang like a sitar. The now F string in that spot doesn't fret buzz anymore.
I'd have to put the LP in drop-C to really compare, but without that comparison, the Mira in drop-C is now the best-sounding guitar I've ever played.

(Btw, what's up with this forum and pictures? Why can't we put pics in a post? All it has is a URL field when you click the pic button...)

Looking forward to more reports of how PRS isn't all that from your ferret on speed entry line evaluations. Hot tip, the seCE you keep asking about feels exactly like one would expect in that bracket.

Also, the CV is great once something is done about that gloss neck. It took me years and dozens of MIM and MIA strats to finally part with my CV60s and that was to my brother in law when he wanted to learn guitar. No wrong choice there

i owned a couple of us made ones as well so my opinion so far is based on us made and se versions...and again...not a bad guitar among them...fyi...if i were you i would try to find other things to look forward to

I'm jumping over the Tom Anderson after giving up trying to find a core HB2 in Canada that wasn't 10 grand. Honestly, the prices here now are insane. A custom order TA drop top was cheaper. But, this will be my first non PRS guitar in a long time. I told them flat out, the bar has been set high. Sadly probably my last guitar, and I was hoping for that HBII but I don't think my health will hold on long enough to keep working to get it and the prices aren't going down that is for sure.
