No more McCarty 594 single cut, and Hollow body without the piezo

I think it depends on where you are located on whether you see the McCarty on the site. Someone on another forum posted that it was gone and I posted a link to it and they said they couldn't see it in the listing from their country. It may be only showing up for people in the US. I forgot to mention that I got an email from Eddie's today with a nice red McCarty 594 Single Cut. Anyone wanting to snap one up should definitely take a look at their site, especially if you like red guitars. And who doesn't like red guitars?

I would think it’s an ongoing exercise in brand renewal and the Singlecut and Paul’s Guitar will reappear soon with some tweaks and perhaps with new names.

You get the feeling over the last 2 years PRS had hit the limit on new models to launch. Every permutation had been tried. DGT SH for example.

The Singlecut is a mainstay in guitar world. There’s no way PRS will withdraw from that slice of the pie.

I have a 2016 McCarty so no biggie for me personally if they did drop it. The regular McCarty still looks better to me, I still don't like the 594 knob and switch layout, it looks odd on a double cut.

I used to feel the same way about the controls, especially the toggle switch. I thought that was the stupidest looking thing in the world when they released it. I found a 594 I kept coming back to and looking at and I ended up negotiating a deal on it that I was happy with. I am a fan of the controls now. The layout of them just works well for me. What pushed me over the edge to a purchase is finding one I just really liked the look of and remembering that where those controls are is one thing that keeps me owning single cut guitars. I am a slightly bigger fan of the double cut so this gives me the single cut controls in a double cut format. I am completely over the not liking the look thing.
