No dual humbucker bolt ons?

I know that PRS used to make the CE model, but I'm just surprised that after the several years that it's been gone there's been no replacement. I mean, it seems like such a staple.... dual hum, trem, bolt on guitar... no? Please, please make a new hum-hum bolt on!

I use to have a 1988 alder CE22 carved with dual hums, I cry a lot when got stolen in Argentina. Gret guitar, if they make it I'll buy one of those again.

If you had an '88 CE22, it was a counterfeit guitar. The '88 Classic Electric was a 24-fret guitar.

Yeah, they didn't even make a 22 fret guitar until the early '90s, right? Maybe it was a typo.

From what I understand, it wasn't all that much cheaper for them to make CEs vs. their Custom counterparts. Think about what's really different... glue vs bolt-in neck joint? Maple neck vs mahogany? They both require about the same amount of labor, which is what you're really paying for. Maybe it's a little easier to finish a maple neck instead of a mahogany one because you can skip the grain filler. Yet the market had the impression that they were "lower line" guitars and was unwilling to pay anywhere near as much for them. PRS is a business and if they're working just as hard to make little to no profit, there's no point in making that product.

I'd love to see them bring back the CE24 Alder. Different tonewoods are what really differentiate the CE from the Custom.

The CE is one of my all time favorite guitars. My current '95 CE24 is my #1 and I'm gonna sell my Bernie and a Strat to get another.
PRS should reissue them. I've noticed the prices have gone way up on used CE's. There must be a growing demand.
