No current soapbar models

this one is out on the verb... a perfect twin to my DGT ...even has the rosewood neck .. .

As the Soapies were a custom shortend Duncan Antiquity and Pauls preference for internal made pickups I can't see them coming back.

I have an 01 McSoapy,04 IRW neck McSoapy and a Triple wood library with a flame mahogany /rosewood neck they will never leave my collection .
Duncan made the soapbar pickups for every iteration of all PRS soapbar models starting in the '90s, including the McCarty Soapbar, the CU22 Soapbar, the Mira Soapbar, the 2017 594 Soapbar, and the Ted Soapbar. There may be others, including PS and WL stuff.

I'd guess he likes the Duncans and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Lets face it: P90s are not the most complicated PU to build. There are great products on the market already and I highly doubt PRS needs to reinvent the P90 in some grand way. I imagine he would shop for P90s at SD again like Les says.

I think there is not enough pull to warrant net P90 core guitars. To the dismay of quite a few Fans over here.

Here's a promise .. make another soapy and I'll buy it , make more than one variant .. I'll by them .. I went to the Gibby Custom Shop and Knaggs for my last 2 . I'd love to give PRS the $$
Timing is everything, of course; when ya want something specific, and it's the right time, gotta get what's both good and available.

I have a terrible time with regular P-90s in my studio because of a mandatory electronic water measurement gizmo the water dept. that causes crazy noise. So I need noiseless P-90s (which of course could be installed on a PRS if need be).

If PRS didn't offer a P-90 model, I'd get one of Tom Anderson's and order it with P-90s (maybe with triple pickups) because his noiseless P-90s sound legit, and the guitars themselves are excellent (might be my favorite bolt-ons).

I put HarmonicDesign P90s in my McCarty gold top double cut.
Superb tone.
I have Z90s in my SG and the Vintage Plus in my Tele.
I posted a link to Fralin's HB sized P90's right when you posted these. They look great and you can swap back to any humbucker out there.

Oh Harmonic Design Z90's are AWESOME , I've used them for 25 years . The maker has long covid and works alone .. but they are worth the wait if you are looking for an HB size p90. I just dropped a pearl set in an SG modern

I have Z90’s in my satin black Vela (they were in my ‘94 CE-22 for over 20 years, that guitar now has Kinman P90-buckers), and I have the Vintage Plus in my Tele as well. Harmonic Design makes great pickups. My black Vela with the Z90’s is the best-sounding guitar I’ve ever owned.

There Are Plenty Of Great Guitar Builders Who Offer P90's If PRS Isn't Wishing To Take Your Money. I Have Been Incredibly Happy With These Listed Below.

Nik Huber
Collings
Knaggs
Tom Anderson
Gene Baker

Pickup wise , of the PRS'the 01's and 04's are my fave's very low noise. I have Lollars in my Knaggs and my '55 LP and they are also nice but a bit noisier.

My ‘04 is definitely low noise, more so than I expected. Based on people’s comments, I was prepared to look into a pup switch, but I love them.

Paul likes his own pickups , so the NF's are as close as it will come these days sadly. Joe Knaggs still offers them and as he ran Private Stock for 20 years I can attest he makes very nice instruments . I love my T3 Kenai with Lollar soapies.

I was so close to buying this guitar on Reverb a year ago! If you ever want to sell let me know. Awesome to know it has a great home/sounds as killer as it looks.

Go used, aside from my #1 2010 triple soapie, there’s my first PRS ( a totally modded Se w/2 pickups) and my SE One that is currently in the avatar. The One has a Lindy Fralin noiseless P-90, his volume control on a custom pickguard, and a TBX tone control so that it can sound like a 2 pickup guitar. Then there are the brass studs. I still want to put a one piece core bridge on it if anyone wants to part with one. Everything was bought used.
