I posted this on General Discussion forum also.

Have a 2020 PRS guitar with very small area where the very thin top coat of nitro flaked off from the bottom color CAB coat on the mahogany neck.
Its smooth. It was kind of an odd small blister area.
What is best way to approach this?
I had some earlier V12 finishes where PRS had issues with flaking also which was a well known issue.
This finish is different.
I have contacted PRS but no reply which is odd as they usually are great in responding.
Any input is welcome. Thanks.

What did Ryan say? I am super curious.

You have a couple of options: 1) drop fill with CA glue, 2) drop fill with nitro, 3) use CA to reglue the flake and go over seams with reducer/diluted nitro. The first option is the fasted, but it requires scraping the CA glue even with the surrounding surface. This is really, really tough on a curve or edge (Fenders are easy - they're flat!). The nitro options take longer because you really need them to cure and off-gas solvents...as they cure, they actually get thinner, so if you have sanded or scraped it flat, it was actually sink below the surrounding surface. It can take a lot of thin coats to build up proud of the surrounding area, depending on the finish and location on the guitar.

On my poly finished 2005, my fretboard started to flake...I used the thinnest CA glue (made to wick into seams and cracks) and gently inserted and Xacto blade between the loose finish and fretboard edge, and then filled it with CA glue, then pressed it to adhere. Worked great. Then just used Micromesh to sand the repaired area and buffed it out. It was invisible. It took a while, though...the issue ran the length of the fretboard on both sides!
