NGSD as in plural, as I bought two.
They arrived a few weeks back, but I am just now getting around to getting pictures and a tone report video.

These are the new CTO model, and CTO stands for Christmas Tree Ornament.
They are equipped with the new 804 pickups which are twice as nice as the 408s which of course I have in my 2013 408 MT guitar.

I am pretty sure these qualify at a 10 top, as the flame really pops out on both guitars.
The backs of the guitars looks just as stunning too.

I need to take these into my dealer for a proper setup though as they are equipped with 10 to 46 gauge strings, and anyone who has read any of my other NGD threads know that I prefer Ernie Ball Cobalts in 9 to 42 gauge.
They just feel much better to me.

I was told by Shawn when ordering these that the forum truss rod covers would not fit the CTO model, but as you can see I was able to get my third forum TRC to fit pretty well.
My other two TRCs are on my 408 and the SE Tremonti Custom.

Very happy with these pickups, and you can hear them in action at the end of this thread in a quick YouTube video I made with my GoPro 2 HD camera.
Not playing any clean sounds, as I am pretty much into dirty/metal/sustaining type sounds, and I run both the tone and volume knobs maxed.
I am just that kind of guy ;)

Here are a few shots with the cases they came in.
Very nice cases, and I have room in my guitar cabinet for these.

Comparison of front and rear.
Look at that backside, it pops as well as the front side.

A few pics of my new guitars next to my FJ Cruiser.

For the video I am playing through my 2012 Carvin V3M on the dirty channel, and through a 4x12 cabinet.

I'd love to hear those 804s clean... Do you notice any tonal benefits with the shorter scale length?

Awesome review! Anyone hear if more are available? I missed out on the first run… I'd love to jam on one myself

It was fun making the video.
Really looking forward to Christmas break from work, I have close to two weeks off, which equates out to lots of playing time.
