Last night I settled on a NOS SE Angelus Custom from Dave's. It has a really cool top with some interesting curl figure to it that the camera just can't capture. The rosewood back is almost black under normal lighting, the ebony is beautiful. It sounds really nice and plays super smooth, can't wait for it to really open up.

That's a nice choice right there. The original SE Angelus models are underrated gems.

I agree, the binding is basic but nice, the solid wood back is a nice feature. The spruce top is incredible and the fit and finish is perfect.

I have one of those. A fine instrument! Recorded all my acoustic bits on our CD (currently in manufacturing!) with mine. All electric bits with a few of my other PRSi too.
