Guitar Center got used Silver Sky SE so I got a 'new' one.... The setup is pretty bad so I'm tweaking but I noticed this..... Now it makes it really easy to adjust the overall height of the strings and is great but I've never seen one not screwed all the way into the body so I'm wondering, is this safe/stable? Is it OK to be adjusting it to adjust string height... I sort of suck at strat setups so it's really helpful to use those screws .

The saddles are for adjusting string height.
Yes I know, curious as to why it would be like this, never owned SE's before.... Wasn't sure if this was something that is the way it is or if it even matters, hence why I asked if it was safe/stable to leave it like this

Man, bring those height adjustment screws back down and tighten the claw on the back until the trem sets level with the body when the strings are at pitch and it should be much better.

Correct! This is how they are supposed to be. Both the SE and the Core versions.
So the bridge not being screwed down all the way into the body is spec? Those saddles are already up pretty high and if I screw the bridge all the way into the body I'd have to raise them up a lot more and that didn't seem right either lol

I'm really happy with the setup I got on it now with the bridge body gap as shown in the picture so as long as it's not causing any structural damage or prematurely wearing something out I don't mind leaving it as is. It's got a good resonating tone and the doesn't go out of tune when I use the bar which is great for a Strat style guitar

Correct so, you’re all good. PRS trems, with the exception of the Silver Sky (both SE and Core) are set up to float. They’re mounted on six screws with a knife edge in them. The trem sits in those edges. The two point on the SE is the same way, with respect to the knife edges. You could set it up to float by adjusting the trem claw, but Mayer wanted it this way (not floating)
