Official Guitar Hack
I’ve always been a Fender guy, and my son cut his teeth on a cheap Ibanez RG. But after playing an SE Custom 24 last month we both knew it was time for a change. Of course neither of us liked the color in stock at our local GC. My son finds this Whale Blue Quilt model that was only released in the UK (of course). I prefer the Tobacco Burst (gentlemen prefer blondes - even if you can see the roots).
I worked out a deal with Guitar Village in the UK and had the Whale Blue shipped in time for Christmas. Meanwhile, the wife orders a random Tobacco Burst for me online with a very nice strap. Needless to say it has been a fun day for all of us - even my 8 year old girl got a pink nylon 3/4 acoustic.
These play like butter! I’m going to mod mine a bit. Some will be cosmetic like black rings, black tip, amber lampshades, maybe locking tuners. While the zebra pups sound good, I’m probably going to upgrade soon.
